Dixie is a 21 foot Corribee, sail number 55, built in the 1970s.
Little of it's history is known to it's present owners, except that
it has been a registered ship in it's time and was once called Bede.
We obtained it in 1999, after it had stood in a field for several months.

This is how we found it. There were one or two things needed doing to it, but on completion it will go back into the water on the North Norfolk coast.
Most of the woodwork was sound and just needed sanding down and revarnishing, but one or two bits were really rotten. Some of this was chopped out and replaced completely, other bits were patched up.
The hull itself has been painted in the past and had several gouges in it. These were filled with epoxy and the hull repainted the same colour.
Inside most of the hoses were completely lacking any hose clips, while the freshwater pump was glued to the hull with silicon sealer!!!
All the electrical wiring was replaced, new lights being fitted where the originals were corroded.
Hiding under the cockpit is a Vire 6 hp two stroke. Completely replaced all the fuel lines and connections.
Gas cooker inside was a bit rusty but otherwise was okay. The gas cylinder,
stored in the cockpit, had a leaky valve and the gas piping was suspect,
so the whole lot came out, just for safety reasons.
So finally all packed up on it's trailer and ready for a trip to the seaside.
And Lo and Behold, it's a bank holiday weekend when we do this, so it's pouring with rain
Now moored at Wells Next The Sea, North Norfolk
Our thanks to Patrick Fox for including a link on his site at Sailing a Corribee
There's a big 12 foot Tinker Star Traveller to tow behind it. Bit
too big for a tender, but you can sail it, row it or motor in it.
