Windmark Sailing
Windmark is a Nicholson 31. A long keel and heavy displacement help guarantee a seaworthy boat with a comfortable motion.
We sail from Strontian, Lochaline or Oban on the fabulous West Coast of Scotland. The scenery is something to behold.
Cruises are varied both by length of time available and the weather but mainly stick to the isles of Mull, Skye, Barra, Coll, the Small Isles, Jura and Islay as well as the mainland with its many sea lochs.
The anchorages (there are only 2 marinas in our area) tend to be quiet except for owls or cuckoos but there are some, like Tobermory, which are a magnet for the cruising yachtsman.
The sea around the islands has an abundance of wildlife. Common or Atlantic Grey Seals, Otters, Whales, Porpoises and Dolphins are often seen as are Gannets, Cormorants, Fulmars, Shearwaters, Puffins, Guillemots and many more seabirds.
On land it is possible to see Eagles (both the Golden and the majestic Sea Eagle). Buzzards are a common sight and you could be lucky and spot Wildcats or a Pine Marten.
There are berths for up to 6 people although usually we like to sail with 5 for more comfort.
Your Skipper Brian is qualified as a Yachtmaster Instructor to ensure your safety and maybe you will learn something too.
