Welcome to the TSA's virtual notice board
.
The boats shown below belong to TSA members who would like to sell them via the TSA's web site.

Please be aware that the TSA offers no guarantee as to the accuracy of any infomation on this page, or indeed implies that a boat is sea-worthy or it's trailer road-worthy.  A prudent sailor will simply treat this page like any  navigation buoy on a passage, which may well have drifted off-station, but could be indicative of something that might be of enough interest to be worth checking out properly.

Another way of finding out about boats that could be for sale is to send an
e-mail to the TSA, and ask.

(This is not a commercial site, and only gets up-graded when there is a reason to change something.)

Etap 22i for sale
'
'The Etap 22i is probably one of the most effective trail-sail boat that have been built to date, especially for people want a cruiser that is actualy Certified by it's Builder to be capable of crossing the Channel or Irish Sea with safety. (The French Regulations that are more detailed than the Recreational Craft Directive, state that that the Etap 22i is safe to travel 60 Miles out to sea from a port of refuge. It also meets the French regulations for being 'un-sinkable', because when holed, it is safe to continue to sail to a place where a repair may be effected.  In effect, the boat will loose about 1/4 of a knot off it's speed, and 'sink' by about 8 inches when water is free to pass through a hole in the hull in unlimited amounts.)

The boat is well made, capable of overtaking larger cruising boats, and the fact that it has a full inner cabin lining makes it  much more comfortable than single skinned boats when the weather is cold, because there is no condensation. The versatile boat is ideal for exploring coasts and sheltered creeks, or simply drying out on a sandy beach when longer voyages are not of interest. The break-back trailer system means it is easy to launch without getting the all important road wheel bearings exposed to salt water.'

With changes in Rates of Exchange and other reasons, the manufacturing cost of these boats got too great by 1996, and the sale price had risen to about £22,000.   It is doubtful if boats of this quality can ever be built again in similar large numbers
.

It is also worth pointing out that it is thought that about 82 boats were imported into the UK, and that only one or two are ever offered for sale each year.  This means that 98% of Etap 22i owners are so satisfied with their boats, that they have no interest in selling them. Few other boat types have such a high level of owner satisfaction.

On Tap'  was fabricated 1989.
Emigration to Australia forces sale,

Complete & ready to trail and sail away.

Purchased by current owner in Sep 2000.

Very little used, logged only 173nm since
then.

Replaced outer stays when purchased
and roller furling gear + forestay in 2002.

Shaeffer 'snapfurl' fitted (lightweight and designed for trailer-sailers) in place of plastimo roller reefing.

Sails
Roller furling genoa bought by previous owner in 2000 (Crusader with padded luff) -vgc.
Main 89 -good
genoa 89- good, (would req new smaller luff rope for new roller reefing)
Spinnaker 89 - vgc, not used by me
:-(

                                 Inventory:
Navico TP100 tiller pilot (98) not fitted till 2002
ST50 Tridata unit with log and depth. New LCD fitted 2001
Sea toilet
New leisure battery 2002
8HP long shaft Honda (BF8 AMLD). The motor is in very good condition (1997) and I've changed the oils each year. When purchased the engine was stated to have run only 10 hrs. It's a nice quiet powerful motor. (
Etap fitted 6 HP Yamaha 2-stroke as standard on the 22i, but would fit an 8 HP Yamaha as a special, where the buyer anticipated that the boat would perhaps meet stronger winds than normal, or wanted more confidence.)
10lb CQR type anchor with 10m chain and 38m spinlock anchor line.
Warps and fenders
Fire extinguisher
Horseshoe lifebouy
Neptune inflatable dinghy (7'2" LOA) + oars
Cockpit cushions
2 ring gas burner
Trailer light board
spinnaker pole
Trailer security wheel clamp
Trailer had new bearings and tyres in 98. Trailer is break-back style and works very well.

According to previous owner, they only used the boat 1-2 weeks per year and it was dry stored in barn by them over the previous 3 years. Bought by them from elderly couple who again hardly used her. The boat's condition does bare this out. Unfortunately Australia is too far away to trail and sail in the time available - don't think we have not day-dreamed of doing it - so she has to be left behind.
We move on
so any offers around £13,000 will be accepted.
