THAMES ESTUARY YACHT CLUB
Facilities
Our jetty is set at the foot of the cliffs on the Western Esplanade at Westcliff-on-sea, directly below the Cliffs Pavilion theatre. There is space for over 40 dinghies and catamarans, and storage space for tenders. There are separate changing facilities for men and women, and a well equipped Race Box. Refreshments are often available during active sailing hours. The Club has a number of half tide moorings laid off the jetty for easy access to cruisers. Cruisers are afloat for approximately six hours on each tide, whilst at low water the cruising member is able to give his boat that extra scrub to improve performance in racing! Dinghies can normally be launched and recovered within 3 hours either side of high tide. The Club has comprehensive Support boat facilities equipped with VHF radio.

The Clubhouse is situated about 500 metres to the west of the jetty at '3 The Leas'. This was extensively refurbished during 1998, and now boasts a comfortable Lounge Bar with beautiful sea views over the Thames Estuary, modern toilet and shower facilities, and a fully fitted Galley. The Clubhouse is open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, and also Sunday lunchtimes. A full entertainment programme is planned each year which includes suppers, parties and musical evenings; events are always well supported, and provide an excellent means for members to get to know each other. The Clubhouse facilities are available for private hire at the discretion of the management committee. In addition to Social events, the Club ocassionally arranges informal training sessions in seamanship, navigation or other topics relating to boating.
