Come Dancing at the TEYC

with

Lew and Edna

Dance classes at the Thames Estuary Yacht Club were introduced in 1995 by Lew Selman who is now ably assisted by Edna Bennett.

The object has always been, not to produce dancers of professional class, but to teach enough to ensure our learners can take to the floor, with confidence, wherever and whatever music is played. Sufficient steps, in other words, to cover Waltz, Social Foxtrot, Quickstep, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, and Jive.

It all happens in the club house at eight o'clock on Tuesday evenings - outside of the sailing season - i.e. October through to April. Absolute beginners with two left feet are welcome as are visitors from other local yacht clubs. Come along and enjoy the good company and sweet music.

Each year we have a gala evening - A black tie and evening gown affair where certificates of proficiency are presented by our Commodore and sometimes trophies for exceptional improvers.
