Background.

Loyal Supporter in Bristol Floating Harbour.

.Loyal Supporter was built in 1978 at Richard Dunstan's Shipyard at Thorne. She was built as a Class C Royal Naval Fleet Tender specifically as a Sea Training Vessel. From 1978 until 1996 when she was decommissioned, she was based on the Clyde, under the control of the RNXS. Principally she was used to train cadets in seamanship skills mainly taking students from Belfast. In March 1996, she was sold into private ownership, and she has cruised extensively from Scotland to the north coast of Spain.

Loyal Supporter combines traditional naval construction and ruggedness, with pleasant and modern accommodation. She is well able to cope with offshore conditions comfortably, but is also perfectly at home lying at anchor in one of the many small ports or anchorage around our coast. She is fully equipped with the most modern navigation and communication equipment, and is licensed by the Department of Transport to carrying 12 passengers and 4 crew to a distance of 60 miles offshore. There are two generators to provide 240 v electricity throughout the vessel allowing the use of all modern day electrical equipment, as well as providing electricity for lighting and heating.

Accommodation .

A Four Man Cabin.

Loyal Supporter has a well equipped galley, adjacent to the ward room which seats 12 so that all the guests can sit down to meals at one sitting. The guest’s accommodation is in the center of the vessel and below the main deck. There are two cabins containing 4 berths, one twin berthed cabin and a double cabin. All the accommodation is light and airy. There is storage space for each guest in the area. At the entrance to the accommodation area there are two heads and a shower.
