Q) Do you provide skating
for the secondary schools?
A) No. Due to the boots sizes we only can provide skating for the Primary
and Junior schools.
Q) Could the ice rink be set up outside?
A) No. Our rink could be used only indoors on the perfectly flat floor.
Q) How does it compare with the real ice?
A) There is a higher coefficient of friction with the polyethylene, so it
is not as fast as real ice. However, we find that this is a great
advantage in a restricted area such as smaller school halls, where real
ice rink speeds would not be acceptable. Younger ones and novices can
find our ice easier and it certainly neither as cold nor as wet!
Q) Do we need to sell tickets in advance?
A) Yes. This avoids long queues and disappointment. Schools are usually
well organised with selling tickets for the events, so this is not
normally a problem.
This is an example of the ticket, which could be adopted in any
school:
