Swale Regatta 2011

Notice to Skippers 

This year we have a lot of media interest in the Swale Regatta, with a small number of reporters wishing to take part, so they can write stories of their experiences.

This will focus a considerable amount of media coverage for the Swale Regatta, and may attract sponsorship for next year’s event.

So here comes the grovelling bit! Is there any skipper’s who are racing on Friday 11 June that has a handicap of 1120 or over, and is prepared to take a member of the media on their yacht?

If there are skippers who would like to take up the challenge of taking along a reporter as crew please contact me.

 I am sure you will agree that the publicity this will generate will be a boost to the sailing community, and bring our sport into the minds of many people who would like to take up sailing.

It may pave the way for an increase of inter club racing events, and hopefully the reporters that come along will become involved in the sport themselves.

So please contact me if you can take a reporter along on the Friday race.
