NBCSC Youth Sailing RYA Youth Sailing
The RYA has a very extensive youth initiative
that is designed to make Olympic class sailors such as Ben Ainslie, out of
ordinary club sailors like those of you reading this right now. You can learn vital sailing skills in any
class but the RYA classes give you a chance to show off in front of the people
who help organize Team GBR.
There are a number of recommended classes
approved by the RYA for youths:
Single-handed Double-handed
Optimist Cadet
Topper Mirror
Laser Radial
Laser
Out of the above classes, the Topper, Laser and
Laser Radial are of the most suitable for racing at the club at the
moment. However, nothing stops you from
sailing any of the other classes and it may only need one of you to start and
soon a whole fleet will be joining you.
The Mirror fleet used to be very strong in juniors.
