Youth Sailing RYA Youth Sailing There are quite a few young sailors in the club but not many of you race on Sundays. It would be nice to see a bit more young competition in the racing and maybe even for some of you to come out onto the open circuit. Many classes are dominated by youngsters on the open circuit especially the Topper Class. A very important event for Nantwich & Border Counties SC on the junior side of things is the Junior 12 Hour Race held at Southport SC. Last year the race went very well for the team as we finished sixth overall, won the trophy for the fastest under 18 last two laps and we were the first under 18 team. This years team comprised of: Tom Morris & Phillipe Oakes James Butler & Peter Griffiths David Germain & Simon Thorley Check out the full results on the Youth Results page.
GP14
Youth Nationals Challenger Are
you good, are you smart, are you a skilful sailor and are you under 19 ?
You are -
then you could be the person the club is looking for.
This
year as last, Nantwich & Border Counties Sailing Club is offering a paid
entry to the GP14 Youth National Championship including the use of the
clubs top specification GP14 and support team, to the best pair of Junior
sailors from the Spring and Summer Points series.
This
will be decided on the Junior Coxswain of the Year points (for details see NBCSC
Year Book) accumulated by the end of the Summer Points series.
This competition is open to Juniors sailing in any class of boat as
training in sailing and racing the Club GP14 will be given during the Autumn,
ready for the GP14 Junior National Championship.
All
you have to do to take part is to race in the Sunday Spring and Summer Series
and the points will be recorded for you.
Keep a watch on the notice boards at the club to see how you are doing.
Definitely a case of Miss It - Miss Out, but in a big way.
For
more information phone me on 01782 623181, or speak to me at the club.
There is also a race
run at our club for under 16’s. It is
a pursuit race and this year is held on Sunday 1st September at 12:00.
Please do try to come for that. This year, we think
that it would be brilliant if Nantwich & Border Couties Sailing Club could
try to get more of its youth sailors out and about on the open circuit and doing
area and maybe even national championships. The Youth events that would be great for you to
bear in mind for this season however are: RYA West Zone Championships Draycote

& 7th July Junior 12 Hour Race Southport SC 29th
