Salty Sojourn

For 2010 we are offering the chance to enjoy the scenic but safer side of the Scottish west coast.

bulletWe will be based from an organised campsite at Invercoe, Loch Leven, near Glen Coe in the Highlands.
bulletThis offers very sheltered sailing within the sea loch, reasonably sheltered sailing in Loch Linnhe as well as access to more adventurous waters for those so inclined.
bulletThere will be no midges (well maybe a few!), the sun will shine and the winds will be light to moderate all week (hopefully!)
bulletIf not then the local area offers some great walks, cycling on and off road, as well as fascinating historical sites, wildlife etc etc....
bulletPlease talk to Jeff Broome on 01422 881933 or Keith Morris on 015395 34638 to express your interest so we can let the campsite know the rough numbers to be expected. See below...

Text Box: Salty Sojourn – Loch Leven, 30th May – 4th June
Following the qualified success of the Tayvallich meet last year, we are off to Scotland again, but further north this time. We will be camping (or motor homing, or even caravanning) at the Invercoe Caravan and Camping Park, Glencoe, Argyll, PH49 4HP. I have reserved 10 pitches and paid a deposit, but I will need to be able to give the campsite an exact number to expect and when. To be sure of a place please send me a £10 deposit, with the dates you plan to be there (we will not force you to stay the entire time). Send your deposit, made out to the OCSG to:

The campsite is located on the shores of Loch Leven at the mouth of the River Coe in Argyll (not to be confused with the freshwater Loch Leven in Perthshire). Loch Leven provides a sheltered sea loch with plenty of scope for exploration and, depending on the weather, we can venture out under the bridge at Ballachulish into the rather less sheltered waters of Loch Linnhe. There are strong tidal currents in the area, particularly at the narrows between Glencoe and Kinlochleven and at Ballachulish, so we shall have to exercise care in planning our trips and discipline in keeping together and adhering to planned timings. However, there will be plenty to do for sailors of all abilities and experience.
