For the first time in a few years we exhibited at
the latest incarnation of a Canoe Exhibition - Canoexpo - this time
organised by one of the leading retailers in the UK. It was at
Stoneleigh near Coventry in February:
Keith Morris delivered a couple of presentations about
sailing canoes - these formed part of the guest speaker provision
and helped mitigate the total cost of our presence at the exhibition, which has been considerable in the past.
We had a state-of-the-art sailing-canoe from Solway
Dory on our stand as well
as displaying many nice photos. We also had a projected slide show running of other canoes
and past trips. Thanks to all our friends, old and new, who came and
said hello!
Continuing for 2008:
The group is offering again a different kind of
meet - aimed at canoe-sailors and anyone else interested in using
small boats to explore a more remote, wilder and potentially
challenging environment.
