Home for the N R S C is our Club house known as the Anchorage at Acle
The Sailing club for owners of modern production cruising yachts on the Broads
Site up dated 29 Jan
Here we are well into January with, hopefully, not too much severe weather to come. I am sure that most of us are dreaming of getting on to the water and also thinking about those jobs we ought to do before we set sail.
The committee has been busy planning some of the details for our events during 2012 so please spend a bit of time reading the Newsletters so as not to miss out.
New members
We welcome the following new members, all owners of Leisure 23’s, and hope to see them at a club event soon: -
Don and Jane Hammond who live in Southend on Sea have “Roaring Silence”, sail number 282SL, moored in Boundary dyke.
Jeff and Margaret Harteveldt who live in Sudbury have “Charlotte”, sail number 423SL, also moored in Boundary Dyke.
Mike and Mary Jennions who live in Brundall have “Lotus Eater”, sail number 271SL, moored at Bureside.
Quiz night
We now have the details finalised for the quiz night on 25th February to be held in Salhouse Village Hall.
Teams will be for up to 6 people. Guests will be welcome so get your friends to join your team.
A Ploughman’s Supper will be provided and the price including entry is £5 per head. Please bring your own drinks (and glasses).
Starting time is 1915 for 1930 hours. Please complete the attached and return to me by Wednesday 22nd February so that we can cater for the correct numbers.
Fitting out supper
The Fitting Out Supper will be held on 17th March at Hoveton Village Hall – details and booking form will follow.
We will be having a boat jumble so please think of anything nautical that may be useful but you no longer use. As in previous years there will be a second hand books and magazines stall so please bring along any that you no longer have a need for. Also for sale will be CD’s of photographs taken during last year’s NRSC events. Donations of prizes for the raffle will also be much appreciated.
VHF radio training
We have been advised that VHF/DSC training courses are to be held on 4th, 11th and 18th February (subject to availability) at Oulton Broad. The cost being £75 (plus licence fee) – please let me know if you are interested so that the necessary arrangements can be made.
Club calendar
There are still a few copies of the 2012 club calendar available at £9 each, the same price as last year. They include our programme of events for 2012 and a selection of photographs taken at various club events during 2011.
Please contact Tom Parkinson (email: tvllp@btinternet.com; tel: 01603 720114).
