RESCUE BOATS

The Rescue Boats are registered with British Waterways Board and insured as Rescue Boats and not for private use. They may only be used as part of organised Club activities, or in support of other sailing at the Club. Members may use a Rescue Boat to provide rescue cover at times other than those scheduled for racing.

Under normal circumstances, only one rescue boat should be launched. Race Officers and others in charge of sessions will of course launch the second boat when necessary

It is a requirement that the KILL CORD  is used at all times. The speed limits on the river are 6 mph upstream and 8 mph downstream. These limits must be observed in the Rescue Boats except in real emergencies.

No person under 16 years of age may be in a Rescue Boat without an adult.
