ABOUT NORTH LONDON SAILING ASSOCIATION

NLSA works with the North London Youth Sailing Trust and Greenwich Leisure Ltd. on behalf of London Borough of Hackney Leisure Services to provide dinghy sailing for youth and community groups and schools in the north London Boroughs.

Individual youth and adult members can join NLSA and sail a wide range of boats at certain times when they are not in use by groups.

In London
At
Stoke Newington West Reservoir Centre, NLSA organises Sunday sailing sessions for its members, plus special youth activities, and a runs programme of informal racing and social events. Members help with organising these. RYA courses are run regularly by the Centre, and members are encouraged to improve their racing and seamanship skills. We are always in need of Instructors and Senior Instructors to help run our activities, so we hope people will progress through the RYA scheme, though there is certainly no pressure to do so.

We sail at Stoke Newington all year round. For more information on boats and facilities there, click here.

On the Essex coast
NLSA also owns a residential coastal sailing base - the Old Custom House - at Brightlingsea on the Colne estuary in Essex. We run up to eight weekends during the summer for members where we day cruise the Colne and Blackwater estuaries and nearby coast. We usually sail Wayfarers and there is always safety boat support.
