Competitive advantage for the process industry from improved asset information management throughout the lifecycle

PISTEP is a consortium of UK companies in the process industries. It aims to increase the competitiveness of the UK process industry by improving engineering information management throughout the lifecycle and the supply chain. This is being achieved by the use of information technology and international standards.

PISTEP is a member of EPISTLE (the European Process Industries STEP Technical Liaison Executive); PISTEP members collaborate with members of the POSC Caesar and USPI-NL consortia to develop specifications and standards designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of information management in the process industries. Information related to EPISTLE's work is available on the EPISTLE website.

During 2000 PISTEP agreed to merge with POSC Caesar, and now acts as the UK Chapter of POSC Caesar.
