All my working life has been with Shell.
I started at Shell Haven Refinery in Essex in 1978 as a Refinery
Technologist and spent 8 years there before moving to Shell Mex
House in London where I stayed for a couple of years. I spent
1989 in The Hague, and since 1990 I have been working in Shell
Centre, London. I say something about my work at Shell here.
Much of my work has been in the development of standards for
information management. Initially this was for internal use,
but since 1993 I have been helping to develop standards in ISO
TC184/SC4 - Industrial Data. I say something about this work
here.
One of the ways I have contributed to the development of information
management is through involvement in European Commission supported
projects. I say something about this involvement here.
At the beginning of 2001 I was made a Visiting Professor in
the Keyworth Institute
at the University of Leeds. I say something about these activities
here.
Over the years I have published some papers that are in the
public domain. I provide a list of these publications,
and where I can I make them available electronically. I have
also read and contributed to quite a lot of stuff, and I make
reference to these here.
