FATBOY LEADS THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! - Although it was another good win for Pete Moore at Watermead on May 17th it is Darin Ballington and his Fatboy that now lead the Midland District Championship, full running results on the
results page with a detailed race report here. It's tight in the club table with Market Bosworth leading and only 5 points separating 2nd and 3rd places. Next round at Manor Park on 23rd August but look out for the Metre Mug at Leicester on June 14th.
Pete Moore of Bournville wins the Welford Trophy and second round of the IOM Champion Skipper held at Leicester on 26th April.
In a closely fought race Pete took the win from Tony Edwards with Darin Ballington of Manor Park third. Darin is now leading the competition overall - see

Footys in the Midlands
The 'Footy' is a fairly new class to model yachting but is proving to be a very popular class across all ages. From
old to young, people are finding out that these small RC boats
can be great fun to sail and race. Click here for the latest Midland Footy News.
Marbleheads in the Midlands
Leicestershire RYC is one of the few clubs in the Midlands that regularly sail the Radio Marblehead (RM).
The Dennis Nixon Trophy for RMs is an open event held at LRYC for all abilities and boats and is sailed
over five monthly races throughout the winter months at Charnwood Water Loughborough.
The series is open to all RM sailors and is good practice for sorting out those new boats and/or rigs
ready for the summer races.
You don't need the most up to date RM to compete in the series, the top four finishers of this years
trophy were all sailing older boats. Why not hunt down an RM or dig out that one that's been gathering dust in your attic
and contact the secretary at LRYC for details of the next event. You might not win your first race but hopefully
It will be great fun and you'll get some great advice as a bonus in improving the older design.
