Start Sequence for 2005

This sequence (5,4,1, start) is in line with the International Sailing Federation recommendations (as used in Olympics etc) for 2001 to 2004. Only the colours have been changed to make it less ambiguous. See Rule 26 of the ISF.

At Llandegfedd we use Lights instead of Flags, as it is easier to run from the OD hut. An explanation may make it easier

Note that as we now have THREE class rcaes, there will be a flag showing which start is being run;

Each class has a seperate sequence as shown below. Most of the time this will be as for the "correct" sequence, with occasional need for recalls as shown further below.

This flag will be be presented with the Yellow Light

Table explaining the meaning of the lights
Class Flag = Yellow Light
Preparatory (Blue Peter) = Green light (we did not dare have Blue flashing lights)
Odd things, inc Shorten Course/Stop Pursuit = Red Light
-5> etc, means.. = The line to the right of here is 5 minutes before the start

The diagrams shows minutes around start time. The vertical lines are a minute apart, and the colour shows which light is switched on.

§ indicates a Sound Signal (the hooter!)
