This page shows maps and directions to the reservoir. The circle on the maps is the treatment works at the top of the hill overlooking the Sailing Club. The easiest way to the club is to drive along the road past the works.
To see the large scale map, click on the link to Multimap. You can zoom in and out, and pan around until you recognise the area. Why not print a copy if you have no better map? Close scale one is included below.
This page provides instructions from most directions, such as the Midlands, Southern England, and parts of South Wales.
Map link scale 200,000 shows overall location. You need to get to New Inn, just South of Pontypool and North of Cwmbran. The reservoir is signed from there using brown signs. The entrance to the site is at the South end of the reservoir, at the East end of the dam. You will have to pay an entry fee if towing a boat. This is normally the entry fee for an Open Meeting if that is why you are visiting. The sailing club have no control over this process.
The map above and the local map show where we are.
To get to Llandegfedd from long distances is relatively easy. From Southern England, the M4 provides the main link to our area. We are just about 25 minutes form the Severn Bridge. (It is free COMING to South Wales!) Leave at Junction 25A if coming from the East and head for Pontypool. Should take you about 30 minutes from the Severn Bridge. See local directions above.
If coming from the West (Cardiff/Swansea), then leave at M4 Junction 26 and head North for Pontypool. See local directions above.
To get to us from Mid Wales head south for Abergavenny and then head down to Pontypool. See local directions above.
To get to us from the English Midlands, head down the M50 and then go down to Ross, Monmouth and carry on towards Newport. Leave the A449 at USK. Its easiest to go to Pontypool and head towards Cwmbran to pick up the signs if you have not been here before. Then see local directions above.
