This year we went skiing in Val d'Isere with the Jones family and friends of theirs from Swansea. The journey out enlivened by a blizzard which scattered taxis, cars and coaches all over the mountain. The rest of the week was brilliant sunshine, if a little cold. New year in France was great fun and made all the more interesting as it marked the birth of a new currency - the Euro. On the way back we stayed with our au pair's family in Lille and were made very welcome.
Sam, Tom, Sophie and Charlotte had a bash at snowboarding and did surprisingly well!
