Contribution to the Club

As well as paying a subscription, all members are expected to play an active part in some aspect of Club life, at the very least by assisting with race organisation about twice a year. The success of the Club depends entirely upon the commitment and enthusiasm of its members.

There are spring and end-of-season Work Parties (usually April & October) to tidy the grounds and prepare for the season or winter. Members muck in with all sorts of jobs ranging from tree lopping to tidying up the container or clubhouse. Any and all help given is much appreciated.

In reality the number of duties varies depending upon which duty you do, Race Officer, Assistant RO, galley and bar come round about twice a year, whilst safety boat crews do between two and three per year.

Lasers lined upWhat are the benefits of membership?

All members are issued with a key and they have access to the clubhouse and lake every day of the year, subject to observance of the Club Rules. These rules are simple and as non-restrictive as possible. Many of our members use the premises for a 'day out' with a picnic or barbeque. There is a kitchenette in the clubhouse which is always open, as are the social areas an changing facilities.

The Membership Secretary will always be pleased to give information over the phone, but potential members are encouraged to visit the club on any Sunday to obtain fuller details - that way they can also meet other members and appreciate the club atmosphere. Temporary membership may be granted whilst formalities are being processed.
