The Gwennili Trust

History
Founded by Tony and Pat Pheby, the owners of "GWENNILI", the Trust was registered as a charity and company limited by guarantee in 1995. The board of trustees/directors guides the activities of the Trust and the Operations Team directs the sailing activities. The objects of the Trust are: The relief of the physically or mentally disabled - in particular ex servicemen and women - young persons and those in necessitous circumstances by the provision of nautical, recreational and educational facilities on specially chartered yachts,  or any similar vessel and training facility.

Affiliations 
The Trust is affiliated to the Army Sailing Association (ASA), through whose generosity marina facilities are made available. Equally strong are the links with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and Sailability.

Vessels 
Vessels come from a variety of sources, which include the ASA, Sailability, and the Ro-Ro project whose boats are specifically designed for sailing by people in wheelchairs. The number of berths available ranges between four and ten.

Crewing 
Chartered vessels will always be under the command of an experienced skipper who will usually be a RYA Yachtmaster together with one other qualified crewmember as 1st. Mate.

Activities Cruises of 1 to 7 days and weekends can be planned to suit the participants needs. Itineraries can range from a simple outing to a memorable adventure. Progress of the charter is closely monitored by the skipper to ensure everyone's enjoyment.

Insurance
Insurance The Trust Insurance is limited to full public liability cover. Participants may wish to arrange additional personal insurance. Embarkation/Disembarkation This will normally take place at a marina with disabled facilities in the Solent area.
