Great Moor Sailing Club is situated on Grebe Lake near Calvert in the North Buckinghamshire Countryside. It is a friendly, family oriented sailing and windsurfing club founded 35 years ago. The club is approximately 5 miles south of Buckingham, 10 miles north west of Aylesbury and 5 miles east of Bicester. The man made lake was formed from the closure of a brickworks clay pit and offers 65 acres of deep, constant level freshwater. The well developed woodlands around the lake offer pleasant walking for nature lovers and birdwatchers. The club provides opportunities for a wide variety of water based activities such as dinghy sailing, sailboarding, fishing, scuba diving and canoeing / kayaking. The sailing lake is home to a wide variety of bird life and a similar size lake close by is a designated nature reserve. The club purchased the freehold to the lake and surroundings in 1999.  Work is underway on the refurbishment of the clubhouse including enlarging the club room, installing facilities for the disabled, refurbishing the bar and galley, decking the patio area, replacing windows, cladding the building, creating an office, changing room improvements and replacing the gate.
