WHO WE ARE

Who we are
Grafham Water Sailability (GWS) is a registered charity that provides sailing opportunities for its members in Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. GWS is run by disabled sailors and able-bodied helpers with the primary objective of enabling people with disabilities to enjoy the fun of sailing. Our focus is very much on the active participation of sailors in all Club activities, and we coach all new members to sail to the best of their ABILITY.
Who are we associated with?

GWS is based at the Grafham Water Centre, located at Grafham Water, Perry, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The Centre is a County Council owned facility that promotes outdoor activities. GWS sails from the western slipway of the Centre.

GWS is affiliated to the national organisation - Royal Yachting Association.

Who our members are
GWS has members and associate members. Our members are people with disabilities including MS, paraplegia and visual and hearing impairment who enjoy being part of a sailing club. Our associate members are, our much valued, voluntary helpers who enable our disabled sailors to get on and off the water. We have an open membership policy; all you require is a desire to sail or help.
How GWS is run
GWS is run by a voluntary committee elected by its members at its AGM each year.
