MEDINA COMBINED CLUBS
Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club, East Cowes Sailing Club Medina Mariners Association
2008 ANNUAL NEWSLETTER
Welcome to the first joint newsletter of the MCC. Hopefully, many of you will have seen the article in the County Press edition of 15th February which explained the background to this new grouping but, if not, here is a brief resume of what it said:
The link up to form the MCC results from discussions between Andy Cassell, Commodore of CCYC, Adrian Wilkins, Commodore of ECSC, and Ray Redrup, Chairman of the MMA. They hope it will be a beneficial arrangement for all three organisations, which have in common a largely locally based membership and self-help philosophy.
Each club has an interest in the management of leisure activities and the environment of the Medina estuary through managing sailing events and having members who are berth holders. It is hoped by working together these interests can better represented. They of course also run activities that should be of interest to members of each of the three organisations. It is hoped these will be better supported for the benefit of all. Each club also has facilities that may be of benefit to all members.
Further information can be found about the link up on the web sites of the three clubs, www.ccyc.org.uk, www.eastcowessc.co.uk, or www.medinamariners.org/index.htm.
