East Cowes Sailing Club Fishing Section - Competition Rules
- Start times are official although you can start later than times stated if you have
prior commitments but you must not start sooner.
- Finishing times are official and must be adhered to.
- Scales will be open for 1 hour after competition ends or until all anglers entered have
weighed in.
- All fish reported or returned to scales must be to minimum size limits.
- No anglers (or fish) will be accepted at scales unless they have reported to secretary
as fishing the competition prior to start time.
- All boats entering the competition must fish within the 12 mile limit for Club records.
- Any boat wishing to moor on the pontoon hammerhead prior to competition start must
contact Stores Officer, Dave Hedgecox, Tel 07989 690328
Records and diary of each competition will be kept for viewing on the Fishing Page of
the ECSC Website.
Exceptions & limits
- Doggies are exempt from scales (unless you want to keep them) with a limit of 5 fish per
angler 1½lb will be awarded for each doggie reported caught at the weigh in, 5 dogs =
7½lb = 7½ Points.
- Same limitations for Smoothound but 5lb per fish example 5 x 5lb =25lb = 25 points.
Rods
- 2 Rods 3 hooks at any one time.
League Table will be Points as follows:
- 1 Point for signing on.
- 1 Point for returning fish to scales.
- 1 Point for every pound of fish weighed.
Deductions
- No Points will be awarded to any angler returning under size fish to scales and none of
their fish will be weighed and entry fee will
not be refunded.
