This Website shows the restoration of an Embassy Dinghy, 'Driftwood', sail no 354.

The Project is completed and she is on the water again.

The Dinghy is of Plywood construction, 4'8" beam, 11' length, Gunter Rig, pivoted centreboard.
The mast is 10'4" length, the Gunter spar is 10' length, the Boom is 86" length.
It has rowlocks fitted, and had oars.  The rigging is said to be like a "Mirror" Dinghy.   The main sail has the number 354.

The Dinghy was made by a Bristol based company 'Tratman & Lowther'. Please see link on the left hand side for further information about the company.

The combi trailer it sits on was manufactured in 1979 by Pronto Trailers,Poole.

There is lots of information building up about the history of the Embassy Dinghy, do have a browse around the pages within this website. If you have further information to add, or feedback, please do send me an email.

Does anyone have an original 'Embassy Sailing
Dinghy Association' emblem/racing burgee flag or a photograph of such to add to the history ?
