FACILITIES FOR MEMBERS AT DSC

Membership of Dorchester Sailing Club has benefits and responsibilities.  We have all the facilities of a small family-centred sailing club – reasonable water, an excellent Clubhouse, grounds that provide plenty of space for camping and picnics and good, secure berthing for our dinghies.

The majority of Dorchester Lagoon’s 40 acres of water is usable and deep enough to accommodate most dinghies. It has shallows, islands and mud at the bottom. Fortunately there is more deep water than shallow and the islands and overhanging trees provide for interesting sailing.

The Clubhouse

DSC is very fortunate to a have a modern Club House - with all mod cons. With underfloor heating provided by a lake-sourced heat pump, it is a very comfortable place to sit, eat lunch and drink coffee and tea after and between races.

Boat Park

DSC has a large secure Boat Park and large boat shed in which members may store their sails. The Boat Park has direct access via two gates to the beach and slipways for launching.

Lakeside  Grounds

DSC has extensive grounds which can be used by members for walking, picnicing and camping. There is an impressive selection of wildlife and a good selection of blackberry bushes.
