This year the Sea Kayak Weekend will be at Brighouse Bay on 27-29th April.
The organisers will be there from the Friday night.

It is open to anyone within the region who is interested in Sea Kayaking.
Sea Kayaks can be hired from a number of sources - please ask if you are
struggling to find one.  You are welcome to come along for the whole thing
or any part of it, however it might be difficult to meet up with anyone
arriving late if we are already on the water.  Let the organisers know what you would
like to do and we will try to accommodate.  If people can aim to be there by
9 am each day, that would be good.

Previous years have involved a short skills session, followed by a coastal
trip on Saturday and a longer coastal trip on the Sunday.  We have also managed
to get quite a lot of people out for a night paddle on the Saturday night.  The
actual itinerary will be determined by those who turn up, rather than our
plan of what must be done.  The emphasis will be on keeping things informal,
but safe.

If anyone wants to break with tradition and let the organisers know in advance that they
are coming, that would be great, if not we'll see you there!  Only joking
really, but some idea of numbers would be helpful.  Just to give you some
idea of what to expect, the past two of these events have attracted about 20
people.

Help from anyone with experience would be most welcome.

Brighouse Bay is near Kirkcudbright and has very well equipped camping
facilities (approximately £10 per night per tent I think). There is even a bar for
those who don't want to take to the sea again on Saturday night.
OS Grid ref. NX 632457

As well as the more obvious items, such as tents, sea kayaks & paddles, it
would be helpful if you could have some sort of light to use on the night
paddle (if you are interested). Light stick and / or waterproof torch would
be great.  If you have flares, tow ropes etc.. please bring them.
