Ravenglass Seaquest 2007 SATURDAY May 19th, 12 noon for briefing. Postponed from March 4.

Event raising money for RNLI St Bees Lifeboat.

This is a navigational event in the usually sheltered estuaries of the Rivers Esk, Irt and Mite. Competitors (solo, pairs or groups in kayaks or canoes) will have 3 hours to visit as many (or few) controls as you wish, collecting points for each control. Highest score wins. Organisers will supply marked, waterproof maps, with control descriptions, and issue these when you register.

Location - Ravenglass village, beach (GR SD084962, parking nearby).

Novices and under 18's to be accompanied by competent paddler. There will be a small entry fee & prizes, any profits go to charity. See http://www.visitcumbria.com/wc/raveng.htm for pictures of event venue

Other camping in Ravenglass, bunkhouse in Eskdale, Murt camping barn in Wasdale.
Nearest Youth Hostels are Eskdale and Wastwater and Duddon Estuary

Prize giving - Holly House Hotel at about 4.30 - 5.00 pm. Snacks available.

Saturday night social - Holly House Hotel at Ravenglass for bar meals & real ale.

Sunday - More paddling or walking
