Street Pastors in Chandlers Ford
Chandlers Ford Street pastors started on Friday 2nd July 2010.
We have 15 trained pastors on the street every Friday night rain or shine.
We run the project out of Chandlers Ford Methodist Church and are supported by the
local churches and churches together in Chandlers Ford. We have had a positive response
from the local people and have had some amazing and challenging conversations with
teenagers out on the streets whilst handing out lollies every Friday night."
We are funded by the generous support from our partners Hampshire Police,
Local Parish Councillors and the local churches. The Project is a coming
together of the Church, Police and the council to listen, care and help
our local community care and love out local community. The thing I love
most about the project is the range of ages of our Street Pastors, from
myself in my 30's up to people in their 70's. This is a coming together of the
generations all with the same heart and mind to be on the streets caring for
anyone out on the streets and in the parks regardless of their age, gender,
religion, race or beliefs. The vast majority of the people we come in contact
with are under the age of 20.
