See you in Spring '09, after the clocks go forward!

Thursday 21st August

Another busy and enjoyable evening with 22 in attendance representing 10 families. We were pleased to welcome visitors all the way from Yorkshire - us local yokels showed them 'ow to 'av a good time!

A nice westerly breeze meant that there was an opportunity for sailing and it was good to see Maddie Bourn helming the Barrow Boat, whilst the Patrick family provided some entertainment in that respect.

We got through 4 dozen hot bacon rolls this week!

Thursday 14th August

Rain, then shine, then rain, then shine - and then a glorious evening! Who says our river isn't tidal? The level was going up and down like a yo-yo all evening, but it was a very successful Family Boating Evening again, with 22 people representing 11 families in attendance. And we munched our way through three dozen hot bacon butties!

FBE is on again next Thursday (21st) but is not going to be held on Thursday 28th August.

Thursday 8th August

Another enjoyable evening - fifteen in attendance representing ten families!

Thanks to Andy Shaw who deputised as Master Chef in Mary's absence. A nice variety of craft on the water and in spite of an early shower everyone had an active and enjoyable evening!

If you haven't been to one of our Family Boating Evenings, do come along - you're very welcome!

Thursday 31st July

Family Boating Evening

Over thirty people attended the Family Boating Evening on 31st July, representing thirteen families!

We had a nice selection of boats available - including 'Tom Soppy' with an electric outboard, a Barrow Boat for rowing, the Banana Boat, Mary's 'Daisy', the small Rescue Boat with an outboard motor, and the usual kayaks from the Canoe Shed.

Mary did an excellent job of supplying hot Bacon Butties and the predicted heavy rainfall held off until after we'd packed and gone home to bed!

Two items of Lost Property:

1) a grey zip-front child's kagoule with a high visibility band across the back.

2) a dark blue zip-front 'Trespass' child's kagoule, age 5/6

These items are in the Lost Property box in the Ladies' Changing Room. If unclaimed by 1st September they will be disposed of.
