If you are
interested in any of these, please contact David Mannering at:
Standard
equipment requirements: Buoyancy aid, paddle, boat ,spraydeck
Additional
whitewater requirements (Usk and Barle): Helmet.
Notify
David Mannering which of the above you would need to borrow from the club as
there may be limitations on equipment available.
Note:
winter trips can be cold and wet.
For the cold, you should wear warm clothing. some combination of:
wetsuit (sallopets
if possible)
Warm
layers of man-made fibre or wool (not cotton)
Fleeces
Woollen
socks
Warm hat
Wetsuit
boots or trainers
For wind and wet, you should bring a waterproof top, a canoeng
cagoole is the best. Also waterproof trousers if possible.
You should
also bring a towel and complete change of dry clothes in case you get wet
during the trip.
Food: On winter trips it is easy to get hungry and thirsty so
bring:
A bottle
of water
A flask of
coffee, tea or soup
Snack
bars, energy bars or sandwiches in a waterproof container.
Put all of
these in a container which can be secured to the inside of your boat so it
is accessible during the trip.
