Junior Training Weekend with NQYC/Draycote Water Sailing Club

Whitsun Weekend, 26, 27 & 28 May 2001

The weekend also includes club racing for the Dolau Cup, a series to be raced over 3 days. The plan is to incorporate this into the programme. All visitors are temporary members and are eligible but cannot take the cup away. There will be prizes for the overall winner, first DWSC boat and first NQYC boat.

Numbers are growing for the course and we have the following participants registered, together with a growing number of helpers.

The sailing

Sailing will be in Optimists, Toppers, Picos, Lasers/Laser Radials and menagerie classes. There will also be an opportunity to try sailing in L two Laser 3000s using both the trapeze and the assymetric spinnaker. In the afternoon there will be racing with class starts according to numbers, with races open to non-juniors for the Dolau Cup.

Cost (to include meals, tuition etc)

Children £20 each

Please contact me as soon as possible if interested. In particular, I need names of volunteers to ensure that we can run the sailing. If there is insufficient interest we could still run a smaller scale operation, for example Saturday and Sunday only, with racing for those interested on Monday morning. I can be contacted on 01926 842429 or via email on n.d.james@bham.ac.uk or by post at Breach Manor, Breach Lane, Claverdon, Warks CV35 8QB.
