General


We are at Lakeside, Summerleaze Road, Maidenhead. The sailing area of the lake is about 50 acres. Organised racing takes place at least once a week throughout the year. The only thing that stops this is if the lake is iced over.
Four times a year, the club issues a newsletter to members and the club calendar is published in this newsletter. The Editor solicits contributions from members and there are regular contributions from the Commodore and Fleet Captains.

In addition to the racing programme the club has other events throughout the year:-

Social

In February we hold a Dinner/Dance at a local venue. At the end of the Winter and Summer seasons we have a prize giving event and this is usually held in the Clubhouse with outside catering. During the Winter there are Thursday evening 'events' organised by the different fleets. These range from formal talks given by guest speakers to games and quizzes. Members are encouraged to provide the benefit of their expertise or area of special interest for the amusement of the rest.

AGM

In December we hold the AGM where the membership are invited to review the Club financial situation and vote on important topics like the election of new Committee members

Regattas and special sailing days

There are two full day sailing events held every year where club members compete for special trophies, plus fun events like a marathon team race.

Open Day

Each year we open our doors to the general public for a day and provide opportunities for people to experience sailing. There is usually some advance publicity of the open day; for example we put a boat in Nicholson's Walk in Maidenhead and hand out leaflets.

Work party

Twice a year we invite members to spend a day doing necessary work on the site to keep it in good order. The Harbourmaster keeps a list of jobs and our objective is to keep external expenditure to a minimum and have a fun day.

Bar/Catering

Catering
For club events such as Prizegiving, we use external caterers. For other occasions, there is a kitchen in the clubhouse and a barbecue with picnic tables outside.
Bar operation
The bar is open every Sunday lunch time and some Thursday evenings.
