Assistant Race Officer Duties
ARO assists the RO in the running of club racing.
Times
- Summer (May to end September) - report to OOD at 09.30
- Winter (October to end April) - report to OOD at 09.00
Duties
- Assist the RO in launching a safety boat (Dory) and setting a course (Mark laying etc.)
- Help make ready the committee boat and collect all the equipment as requested.
- Assist in running the racing as directed by the RO
- Assist in inputting the results into the computer.
- Help clear up after racing has finished.
Please note that as all racing is run from the committee boat you must dress for the weather. It gets cold sitting in a boat for two hours at a time and you must wear a buoyancy aid.
