Winter Sailing 2008-9:
Bough Beech has a full Winter Training programme for its junior and youth sailors.
The sessions will run on Sundays, starting from 9th November, and will be aimed at developing boat handling and racing skills ready for next season.
This is an essential programme for prospective racers. To register contact Richard Meakin on 01883 715496 or
email him (richardm_training@hotmail.co.uk)
The Winter Training session scheduled for Sunday 7th December will be open to all Bough Beech sailors and will be an introduction to Team Racing.
This is a fast, fun aspect of sailing and great for developing boat handling, tactical awareness and
knowledge of the rules of sailing.
Prior registration is necessary so that boats can be allocated. email Chris Cooper (cwcooper@hotmail.co.uk) for details.
Youth Sailing 2008:
Bough Beech Pirates and Buccaneers is a club for young members of Bough Beech sailing Club running every other week-end on Saturday mornings
from 10.30 to 1.00 and on Sunday afternoons from 2.00 to about 4.30.
The aim is for a safe fun activity both on land in on the water but structured around the abilities of those taking part, the emphasis will be
on fun in a safe environment.
To make this a success we do need parents to help out with this activity even if they do not sail.
NB All Pirates and buccaneers must be members of Bough Beech Sailing Club
Bough Beech Pirates
This is aimed at youngsters from 7-10 years running every we hope to use the club training Optimists and RS Teras
Bough Beech Buccaneers
This runs at the same time as the Pirates and is aimed at 11-15 years. It will focus on sailing and an introduction to racing.
We will use the club Toppers and RS Fevas but we would hope some of those taking part to have their own boats.
Buccaneers will be the feeder group in to a new Youth Racing series running through the Summer
The cost for Pirates and buccaneers will be £5 per child per session if they are planning to use a club boat and £2 if you have your own boat. Download the application form to join in
