As we try to sail north toward Brownsea Castle, the Ebbing Spring Tide
works strongly against us and the motor is brought into play. Upon reaching 'Aunt
Betty' Cardinal the sails are hoisted and the increasing wind leans her over
well. Then suddenly comes the storm and the sea chops up beneath us. We were not
slow in dopping the sails and engaging the engine. After five hours at sea, it
was time to get back to Baiter Park and safety.
Our first trip had been a real success, The West Wight Potter handled very
well indeed, it had been easy to launch and recover up the excellent
slipway.
Join us on the next trip!... Jim
